  • Provide assistance to both the Three Rivers and Mesa Verde BCH clubs

  • Issue ride signup sheets early

  • Coordinate and assist other volunteer groups

  • Pursue Pine & Piedra Trail improvement

  • Combine maintenance and pleasure rides, when possible


Education Committee

  • Plan monthly programs, of interest to members and guests

  • Coordinate with Membership and Trails Committees on join programs, such as a "park and ride" fun event

  • Offer a basic horsemanship series for novice horsemen

  • Develop a mentoring program via a subcommittee, structured similar to Big Brothers/Big Sisters


Public Affairs Committee

  • Support San Juan National Forest and BLM plan revision

  • Continue monitoring the La Plata County Land Use Code

  • Contine opposition to recreation fees on public lands

  • Monitor and support right to ride legislation

  • Revise and utilize 4CBCH video

  • Develop 4CBCH powerpoint presentation based on video in coordination with the membership committee

  • Seek other community outreach opportunities


Raffle Committee

Membership and Social Committees

  • Facilitate social time before membership meetings, including occasional pot luck dinners

  • Facilitate fun rides, an annual gymkhana and an annual poker ride

  • Invite other groups to present at our meetings

  • Develop newcomer packet and distribute as appropriate

  • Participate at Horse Expo and the 4 Corners AG Expo, as appropriate

  • Make presentations to other horse groups

  • Improve membership coordination with national BCH
