The Four Corners Back Country Horsemen (4CBCH) is located in Southwest Colorado with over 1 million acres of public lands including the San Juan National Forest and the Weminuche Wilderness.
Our local members come from Durango, Bayfield and Pagosa Springs.
Our club is part of the Back Country Horsemen of Colorado and The Back Country Horsemen of America. Our mission is to preserve our historical right to use horses and mules in the backcountry through education, information and outreach programs.
The 4CBCH maintains sections of trail in the San Juan National Forest in conjunction with the US Forest Service and we also do several clean up projects each year. We are working to rebuild some of the heavily accessed trailheads that are enjoyed by hikers, bikers, off-road enthusiasts and of course equestrians.
Our club includes Western and English riders, owners of horses, mules, ponies, and some folks who want to be involved that do not own riding stock. Please join us in our pursuit to keep the backcountry open and clean and have a great time too!
